Despite being on top for large spells of tonight's Championship semi final Owen Roes U14 ladies found themselves very unlucky to emerge on the wrong side of a narrow defeat in Newtownstewart tonight. The home side had a blistering start and registered 1-1 in the opening two minutes before the visitors had got into their stride. However the O'Neills slowly got to grips with their challenge and came back into the game, and on 10 minutes grabbed a goal of their own. Great work by Amy Stewart...


Newtown Too Strong for Owen Roes Girls

A bigger Newtownstewart side collected both points in the opening U14 league game of 2012 as they ran out 2-8 to 1-3 winners. However the home side will be very pleased with their showing considering this was their first game at this higher grade. The visitors dominated the first half but the second half was much closer as the Leckpatrick ladies came into the game. Scorers on the night were, Ciara McNulty (0-2), Shakyira Kelly (0-1), Chantel McNulty (0-1), and Alex Kelly (1-0).

Owen Roes' opening game of the season ended in defeat in Aghyaran this evening. Amy Rose Harte notched 1-1, with further points from Kelsey McNulty and Alex Kelly. Emer McAleer stood out for a Leckpatrick side that showed promise over the hour.
