A flurry of late action saw Owen Roes almost grab an Óg Sport U15 Grade 1 final spot, and then lose it again in a frenetic closing 2 minutes to this semi final tie. Both sides exchanged early points with Michael Dooher's free and Conal McCormick in range for Owen Roes. O'Neills Into Og Sport Finals

Owen Roes' U15s put on a superb showing on Wednesday night in Cappagh to make it to the finals of the 2012 Óg Sport competition. Battling their way through the group they had to take on Greencastle in the final emerging narrow two point winners. Kevin Cairns and Sean Kelly grabbed goals added to by points from Michael Dooher and Ruan McAleer (0-2).

Pipped to the Post in Final

The boys started in style against Brackaville as they got on the scoreboard quickly with Ricki and Ronan. The second half the boys were roaming the field and taking every opportunity that came their way to score but eased of the pedal just enough to let Brackaville come close but the whistle came at the right time as the game finished 3.05 v 3.02. U15s Progress to Finals

The teams up were Urney, Omagh B and Gortin and for each 20min game the boys put every effort in to quickly get scores on the board and then notch up further scores to leave the other team a lead which couldnt be caught. Each player in the 10man squad played his part on the night, and with 1 player putting his nose on the line and getting the ball in the net it was a night of blood, sweat but no tears! Gortin, Urney, Kildress and Glenelly were all cast aside by the 10 chosen for this years U15 Og Sport team as they beat all clubs in their section and carried on to beat Kildress again in the group final. The Roes started slow of the mark against Gortin but they still managed a win, however they knew they had to pull their socks up (or in Dohertys case shorts!!)  if they wanted to progress against the other contenders.  Urney came next in line and it was goals that saw the difference. ...
