The U14 footballers of Owen Roes produced a stunning display to overcome their counterparts from Galbally in the league quarter final tonight. Level after 60 minutes, it took extra time to seperate the sides before the Leckpatrick youngsters emerged 5 point winners. Every player on the field can be proud of the part he played in this nerve-wracking quarter final which tested each of the supporters hearts! The rain poured down on top of the two young teams but it was the Roes who were the team with the most determination and put the weather to the back of their minds as they played the hours football. Owen Roes started strong using the change to 13 a side to their advantage using the width of the pitch and corners to notch some quick goals on the scoreboard. Owen Roes and Aghyaran fought out a keenly contested grade two under 14 clash today, before the visitors eye for a goal saw them home. The result means that both sides, and Beragh are tied in joint fourth spot in the section, with only one spot available to take.

On a heavy pitch, with strong winds blowing, it was Owen Roes who took an early lead. After poor league performances against Fintona earlier in the month, the young lads got it together and really stole the show in the first 30 minutes. Strong defensive work from Harper, Boggs and Dooher kept the boys pushing up the field and shocked Fintona who were very lucky to remain with 15 on the field. On a gusty Saturday morning it was Beragh who made better use of the breeze to earn themselves another 2 points. Beragh started with the wind on their side, as the slotted in 4-06 in the first half. The Roes found the ball dropping short in alot of passes which made it hard to take scores. Cathal fought hard to earn a goal and point, while Ronan notched one over to finish the first half 4-06 to 1-02.
