Owen Roes and Aghyaran fought out a keenly contested grade two under 14 clash today, before the visitors eye for a goal saw them home. The result means that both sides, and Beragh are tied in joint fourth spot in the section, with only one spot available to take.


Fintona Steal Win In Second Half

On a heavy pitch, with strong winds blowing, it was Owen Roes who took an early lead.  After poor league performances against Fintona earlier in the month, the young lads got it together and really stole the show in the first 30 minutes. Strong defensive work from Harper, Boggs and Dooher kept the boys pushing up the field and shocked Fintona who were very lucky to remain with 15 on the field.  McAleer was flying in half forward getting all the breaking balls from the excellent kickouts...

On a gusty Saturday morning it was Beragh who made better use of the breeze to earn themselves another 2 points. Beragh started with the wind on their side, as the slotted in 4-06 in the first half.  The Roes found the ball dropping short in alot of passes which made it hard to take scores.  Cathal fought hard to earn a goal and point, while Ronan notched one over to finish the first half 4-06 to 1-02. Roes Put First Points On The Board

It was Aghyaran who put the first ball in the net but the game swayed both ways during the 60 minute encounter. Midfielder Ricky Devine hit the net first for the Roes youngsters followed closely by 2 points from Charles and a goal from McShane after great defending by Ryan Devine.  Aghyaran were closely matching the scores though hitting 2 goals of their own.  Another 2 goals followed from the green and golds but then Owen Roes ran riot with Michael Dooher cleaning up in the forward line,...

The youngsters of Owen Roes found their counterparts from Loughmacrory too tough of a challenge on Saturday last. Missing a handful of regulars the boys struggled to get into the game, and ran out to a heavy defeat in the end.
