VOLUNTEERS MEETING

All the Owen Roe’s events you see in these notes takes people giving up a few hours of their time each week and without these people there would be no football or social events taking place. And these are just the things people see.

There's loads more going on behind the scenes at Owen Roe's.

To keep things happening at the Club we need more volunteers to lighten the load on those already helping...

Can YOU give up 30 minutes, an hour, 2 hours, 4 hours or whatever suits you each week to help out?

Would you be interested in coaching, helping at matches or with teams, grounds maintenance, helping with Social events, check the Lotto on a Tuesday night, help with fundraising and so on?

If so please come along to the Volunteers Meeting tonight, Thursday, at 8pm. New and past volunteers welcome!

GOOD LUCK

Everyone at Owen Roe’s would like to extend their congratulations to minor player and underage coach Jamie Conway, who recently earned the opportunity to go to Atlanta in America to coach with Skill Schools Northern Ireland this coming summer.

Jamie has played football with Owen Roe’s from an early age, and got involved with coaching a number of years back assisting at our underage academy evenings. Since then Jamie has assisted in the Owen Roe’s schools coaching programmes in Cloughcor and more recently in the Club’s Sports NI coaching sessions at Melvin.

It’s the experience and skills that Jamie has collected over the last few years with Owen Roe’s, coupled with his own motivation and drive, that allowed the Owen Roe’s Minor player to get through the competitive selection process to earn the opportunity that he has been given.

SCHOOLS FOOTBALL

Well done to Peter O'Flaherty and Lumen Christi who won the Ward Cup last week with a 3-10 to 1-8 victory over De La Salle, Downpatrick.
