NOTE: Due to the Senior match, coaching for U-6s, U-8s and U-10s will take place on Friday 21st April from 7 to 8pm.

MEMBERSHIP

If you have paid your membership for 2017 don’t forget to get registered on the GAA’s new membership benefit scheme GRMA (Go Raibh Maith Agat – Thank You) is the new GAA Membership Card programme providing benefits and rewards to GAA members. It is a ‘thank you’ for your involvement in your GAA club, engagement in GAA activities and attendance at games. Registration for the programme is now open with benefits available from January 2017. When you sign up, you will receive your Membership Card enabling you to avail of partner discounts, special offers and earn points for going to games. Points can be redeemed by individual members or pooled for redemption by GAA clubs. You will need a GAA membership number to join grma and receive a Membership Card. SOCIAL

The next Quiz Nite will take place in the Clubrooms on Friday 21st April and is being run by Niamh Christy who is raising funds for charity work she will be taking part in later this year. Niamh will be off to Sri Lanka with SLV.Global (Sri Lanka Volunteers) who offer Psychology students and graduates mental health placements in places like Sri Lanka, Bali and India. All proceeds raised at the Quiz Nite will be used to take arts and crafts materials to help stimulate those with mental disabilities.



If you would like to run a Quiz for a chosen charity or other fund-raising event please contact Joe Hegarty to book a night.


Cards (25) continue every Tuesday night and all are welcome to come along for the night’s craic from 9pm. New players always welcome!


The Clubrooms and Glenmornan Community Hall are both available for any family functions, fundraising events, community activities or classes.


GAELTACHT GRANTS

If any of our members are attending the Gaeltacht and wish to apply for a scholarship from the Tyrone County Board, please download an application from for www.tyronegaa.ie

Forms must be submitted to Tyrone GAA by 5pm on Friday 5th May. All applications must be signed by Club Secretary, Assistant Secretary or Registrar.

Only those members with a valid registration number, paid up before application received may be deemed eligible. Late or incomplete forms will not be processed.


Applications are also being taken for Gaeltacht scholarships sponsored by the Ulster Ladies Council.

There will be 6 x €250 scholarships available and the application form can be downloaded from www.ulsterladiesgaelic.com

TYRONE GAA SUMMER CAMP

Owen Roe’s will host its annual Tyrone GAA Summer Camp from Monday 3rd July to Thursday 6th July this year. Application forms can be downloaded from www.tyronegaa.ie


Campa Chormaic is the Irish Language and Sports Summer Camp held in the memory of Cormac Mc Anallen. For details on this year’s Camps check www.campachormaic.com


The Michaela Foundation Girls' Summer Camp offers girls aged 11-13 a week of unforgettable fun filled activities. For more details or if you would like to volunteer at a Camp check www.michaelafoundation.com


COACHING FOR UNDER-6S TO UNDER-10S

Coaching for children aged 5 to 10 years of age continues this Thursday, 13th April, from 7pm to 8pm at the Clubrooms in Glenmornan. Coaching is open to all girls and boys! New players are always welcome! Please bring indoor & outdoor gear and £1 per player which will go towards an end of season event for the children.



NOTE: Due to several of the coaches playing for the Senior team next Thursday night, coaching for the U-6s, U-8s and U-10s will take place on Friday 21st from 7 to 8pm instead. Why not bring the younger players to the match on Thursday night to support the Seniors?


The Under-8s will have their first Blitz this Saturday in Aghyaran starting at 10.30am. 


The Under-10s will have their next Blitz on Saturday 22nd April.



 

CROKE PARK ACTIVITY DAY

Good luck to Naoimh Mc Gonagle, Daire Mc Gonigle and Ryan Kelly who will represent the Club on a trip to Croke Park with Tyrone GAA on Friday week.  Have a good day!!!


LADIES MINOR FOOTBALL

The Ladies Minor team are back in action this Monday night when they will host Donaghmore in Glenmornan with throw-in at 6.45pm. They then have their last scheduled League match the following Tuesday when they are again at home, this time against Dromore. They are then away to Galbally on Monday 8th May for their Championship match.



MINOR FOOTBALL

The Minor team (boys) and their Clann na nGael teammates lost out by 2 points to Beragh last Wednesday night.

Tonight Wednesday they had a 5 point win over Urney. They now have a break until Wednesday 26th April when they will travel to Castlederg.


U-14 (BOYS) FOOTBALL

The U-14 boys (playing with Clann na nGael) were due to play Tattyreagh last Saturday but unfortunately the match was called off as Tattyreagh were unable to field.

Last night (Tuesday) night they won in Pomeroy and they now have a break until Saturday week, 22nd April when they will be at home to Drumquin.


RESERVE AND SENIOR FOOTBALL

Both the Reserve and Senior teams made the short trip to Aughabrack to take on Clann na nGael in the first round of their Leagues and both teams came away with victories.


Both teams are on the road again this Saturday, away to Clogher with throw-ins at 4.30pm for the Reserves and 6pm for the Seniors.

On Thursday next, the Seniors are then away to Glenelly with throw-in at 7.30pm while the Reserves will have to wait until Sunday 23rd April to fulfil their corresponding fixture. Throw-in then is at 2.15pm.
