FIXTURES AND EVENTS (subject to change)

Fri 10th Apr - coaching resumes for all children aged between 5 and 10 from 7pm to 8pm at Glenmornan Community Hall. New players welcome! Cost £1 per child per night.

Sat 11th Apr Feile na n-Óg in Glenmornan. Starts 10.30am.

Sat 11th Aprif Tyrone U-21s won last night - ACL: Owen Roe’s v Aghaloo (Seniors first at 4.30pm followed by Reserves at 6pm).

Sun 12th Apr – if Tyrone U-21s lost last night - ACL: Owen Roe’s v Aghaloo (Seniors first at 2.15pm followed by Reserves at 3.45pm).

Ladies NFL: Tyrone v Laois in Drumragh at 2pm.

Mon 13th Apr – Ladies Minor League: Owen Roe’s v Edendork at 6.30pm.

April Committee meeting at 8pm.

Tues 14th Apr – Minor (boys) League: Beragh v Owen Roe’s.

Cards (25) in the Clubrooms. Starts 9pm. New players welcome!

Wed 15th Apr – U-14 (boys) League: Urney v Owen Roe’s.

Sat 18th Apr- U-14 (boys) League: Owen Roe’s v Drumquin.

Sun 19th Apr – Ladies U-14 League: Drumragh v Owen Roe’s at 12.30pm.

Fri 15th May – “The Quare Gunk” play will be staged in Glenmornan Community Hall – tickets on sale soon! Note change o date.

 

CLUB GEAR

A new order for the Club training tops and hoodies is being taken by Joe Hegarty. If you would like to order a hoodie or a training top please contact Joe. The closing date for placing your order has been extended to this Tuesday, 14th April due to demand. All orders placed however must be paid in full at the time of placing the order as orders have been placed before but never collected. Full payment can be made into the Club’s PayPal account.

All players are reminded that only official Club shorts should be worn during matches. Shorts are available from Joe Hegarty (please state waist size in inches). Club socks (red) are on sale in O’Neill’s Sports, Melmount

There are still some Club hoodies, training tops, youth and Senior replica jerseys, Reserve replica jerseys, Club jackets and granda shirts still on sale in certain sizes only. Club hats, kitbags and mugs are also still available. Check the Merchandise page on the Club website to see what’s in stock.

 

CULTURE

Irish dancing classes continue every Thursday night from 6.30pm to 8pm. New dancers aged 3 and upwards are welcome to start lessons at any time.

 

GLENMORNAN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

“The Quare Gunk” play will be staged in Glenmornan Community Hall on Friday 15th May. Tickets will be on sale soon! The play will see the start of a mini GlenFest – more details shortly!

 

SOCIAL

If you would like to run a quiz for a charity, contact Joe Hegarty. The Club will provide a quizmaster and a prize for the winning team so all you have to do is spread the word and bring a few raffle prizes.

Cards (25) continue every Tuesday night at 9pm – new players always welcome!

The Clubrooms are open on a Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and are available for parties such as birthdays, anniversaries, or other family events. If you would like to book the Clubrooms or Glenmornan Community Hall for an event contact Social Officer, Paul Philips.

 

MEMBERSHIP

All members, especially all players, are asked to get their fees for 2015 paid as soon as possible.

Fees can be also paid in 1 payment or 5 payments to Club Registrar, Donal Cairns or to Sean Devine, Chris Caldwell or to bar staff in the Clubrooms during opening hours.

Fees are posted on Club noticeboard and on the Club’s Facebook page and on the membership forms on the Club’s website.

New members must fill in the appropriate membership application form and these are available from the Clubrooms or downloaded from the website. Closing date for payment of fees was 31st March.

 

UNDER-10 – UNDER-6 COACHING

Coaching for all players aged between 5 and 10 years of age resumes tomorrow night, Friday, in Glenmornan Community Hall from 7 to 8pm.

Any help from parents to assist at these coaching nights would be appreciated. Children are asked to bring indoor and outdoor gear and £1 per child per night.

The Under-10s have their first Blitz this Saturday along with Urney, Aghyaran, Newtownstewart and Castlederg. Venue details will be announced at U-10 coaching this Friday night and it is hoped eligible players will take part.

 

LADIES U-14 & MINOR NEWS

The Ladies U-14 team next game is on Sunday week, 19th April, when they are away to Drumragh.

The Minors had a good away over Fintona last Wednesday night. Last night they were away to Badoney and on Monday night they are at home to Edendork.

The Tyrone Ladies Senior play Laois this Sunday in Drumragh with throw-in at 2pm. Drumragh GAC have a special day organized for the match so if you’re at a loose end why not go along and support the Tyrone Ladies team.

 

YOUTH FOOTBALL NEWS

Owen Roe’s will host the first round of Feile na n-Óg this Saturday morning with Owen Roe’s, Clann na nGael, Drumquin and Omagh B taking part. Starts 10.30am.

The U-14s lost out by 2 points to Castlederg on Saturday last. Their next game is next Wednesday night when they are away to Urney with throw-in at 7pm and then on Saturday week they are at home to Drumquin at 11am.

The Minors were at home to Tattyreagh on Tuesday night. Next Tuesday night they are away to Beragh with throw-in at 7pm.

 

RESERVE/SENIOR NEWS

The Reserves and Seniors start their 2015 League campaign on either Saturday 11th April or Sunday 12th April (depending on the Tyrone U-21s result from last night’s Ulster Final) with 2 home games against Aghaloo.

If the U-21s won then the Seniors will play Aghaloo on Saturday at 4.30pm and the Reserves will play at 6pm. If the U-21s lost both teams will play Aghaloo on Sunday with the Seniors at 2.15pm and the Reserves at 3.45pm. (Please note that this year the Senior teams in Division 3 will play all their games before the Reserve games).

Good luck to Cathal Mc Shane and the Tyrone U-21s who meet Donegal tonight in Celtic Park, Derry in the final of the Ulster Championship. Throw-in is at 8pm.
