To mark the 40th Anniversary of the only appearance of an Owen Roe’s team in a Tyrone Senior Final, there will be a special evening this Sunday 30th August in the Clubrooms in Glenmornan.
On 31st August 1975, the amalgamated team of Donagheady and Leckpatrick which made up Owen Roe’s at that time played in the Tyrone Senior Championship final against Trillick.
Sunday’s event itself will be preceded by an Over-35 Challenge Match between the current Owen Roe’s and Clann na nGael clubs at 6pm, with a BBQ at 7.30pm and music by The Brambles afterwards.
There will also be photographs and media coverage of the 1975 Championship on display in the clubrooms to remind us all of the anticipation and excitement we shared in that year.
The event is open to all past and present members and supporters. Tickets are now on sale from the Clubrooms, Pat Mc Nulty, Joe Hegarty or from The Glen Shop, priced £5 each.
