OWEN ROE’S TAKE LEAGUE POINTS AGAINST BRACKAVILLE
Sunday last saw Owen Roe O’Neill’s Leckpatrick host their namesakes from Brackaville in the League in a Senior game only.
Having gone 9 games unbeaten already this season, the Leckpatrick Senior side were keen to keep their record intact and started the game with such conviction that they bagged 2 goals from Ronan Mc Nulty and Conall Mc Cormack within the first 2 minutes of the game! Brackaville however got back into the game with 3 unanswered points before Seamus Dooher picked off his first point of the day. Brackaville pointed again before the home side lost defender Gerard Devine to injury with Ryan Mc Aleer coming off the bench (best wishes to Gerard for a speedy recovery). Points from Mc Nulty, Michael Dooher, Mc Cormack and Cathal Mc Shane saw the Leckpatrick side start to turn the screws on their visitors. Brackaville picked off another but the Roe’s replied again from Mc Shane and Mc Nulty and Conor O’Neill taking the home side in at half time on 2-08 to 0-06.
The second half was to continue in much the same vein as the first with Seamus Dooher picking off another 3 points and a goal to take his tally for the day to 1-04 for the day, Michael Dooher, Mc Shane and O’Neill stretching out the Owen Roe’s lead and securing another 2 vital League points.
