Owen Roe’s made the short trip to Aughabrack on Sunday to open their Reserve and Senior League campaigns against north Tyrone rivals Clann na nGael.

The Reserves got matters underway in emphatic style with a 3-13 to 0-04 win in their game, the goals coming from Mark Kelly, Mark O’Neill and Liam Mc Cay. The foundations for the win were laid in the first half with Kelly opening up with a point and his goal followed by another point from Paul Devine. Mark O’Neill picked off his goal and quickly followed it up with a pointed free. Further points from Barry Mc Aleer, Conor Devine and Conn Tinney took the Roe’s in at half time on 2-07 to no score.

Clann na nGael got in on the scoring in the second half with 3 points but the Leckpatrick side kept plugging away and stretched their final score further with 2 more pointed frees from O’Neill along with Tinney, Marty O’Neill, Liam Mc Cay and Conor Devine all splitting the posts.
