The Reserve footballers of Owen Roe's continued their strong start to the 2017 season with a battling victory away to Tattyreagh. It was a game where the hosts had periods of supremacy but the north Tyrone side dug deep to get over the line.

Tattyreagh clipped the game’s opening score after 4 minutes, but Owen Roe's struck back well as they turned over the ball to allow Stephen Harper to lace to the net. Tattyreagh struck back with their own pointed effort, but Mark O’Neill fisted home a well-constructed team goal to stretch the Owen Roe's lead.

The away side edged back into the game with three scores in the last quarter with a well taken Conn Tinney point the only riposte from Owen Roe's.

Mark Kelly got on the score sheet for Owen Roe's early in the second half, but back came the Tatts, and they earned a penalty which was laced into the goals past Sean Devine.

Harper replied for Owen Roe's but a couple of Tatyreagh pointed efforts nosed them in front again as Owen Roe's unbeaten start to the season looked under threat.

However the away side stood tall in the last ten minutes to get home and hosed. Scores from Fergal McNulty and a Harper free put the O'Neill's back ahead with a Mark Kelly’s goal practically sealing the deal. Martin O'Neill fed Barry McAleer who teed up Kelly for the finish.

The home side did muster a late free but scores from Harper and Mc Aleer took Owen Roe's across the tape.
