Drumquin 0-07 Owen Roe's 2-12

The Owen Roe's Reserve side made the short trip to Drumquin last Saturday aiming to pick up another welcome pair of ACL points. The away side were missing a couple of regulars with Mark Kelly and Kevin O'Neill injured. However their absence was offset by the return of Ryan Porter, with Gerard Mc Shane and Ryan Mc Shane returning to the fray after long term injuries.

It was Porter who nabbed the game's first score on 2 minutes from a dead ball. The home side had a chance for a goal shortly after but the Drumquin forward's rasping drive was superbly turned around the post by Owen Roe's captain Sean Mór Devine.

Nonetheless parity was restored via the subsequent Drumquin 45.

Stephen Harper and a Mark O'Neill dead ball nosed Owen Roe's in front but the Wolf Tone's were going to be stubborn hosts as they made scores hard for the away side, and two points of their tied things up once more.

However the Leckpatrick side pulled away a bit late in the half. Porter clipped over a trio of placed kicks and his strike partner O'Neill notching a score from play.

Gerard Mc Shane clipped over just into the second period, with Drumquin's pair of scores ensuring that Owen Roe's were given little time to relax.

Barry Mc Daid came off the bench and minutes later doubled his side's lead. Porter spotted the marauding run of the Owen Roe's defender and Mc Daid laced a fine finish to the back of the net.

Two Harper scores- one from a free- before both sides traded a pair of scores, O'Neill and Porter on target for Owen Roe's.

In added time Owen Roe's chalked up their second green flag with another sub on target as Eamonn McBride slid in to send the ball to the net following a goal mouth scramble.
