The Reserves of Owen Roe’s and Drumragh remain neck and neck at the top of the Tyrone Div 3 Reserve League following Owen Roe’s battling victory in Dunmoyle on Saturday night. The O’Neill’s had to dig deep to get over the line in a game played in, at times, monsoon conditions.

Errigal opened the scoring early on with Ryan Porter’s place kick restoring parity. Porter was involved again on 8 minutes as Owen Roe’s struck for their first goal.

Ryan Mc Shane fed the Owen Roe’s attacker whose fisted effort was saved. However Mc Shane stayed alive to blast the rebound to the roof of the net.

Back came Errigal and they immediately tied things up with a goal of their own.

Two placed kicks by the home side nosed them in front but Owen Roe’s were hanging in there, and a pair of Mc Shane efforts levelled things up once more. Indeed the away side would leave the pitch ahead as Marty O’Neill clipped over to leave the minimum in it.

A well taken Mc Shane point got the scoring going in the second period but try as they might Errigal were not being shrugged off and a well worked team goal put them ahead again.

Ricki Devine traded scores with his opposite number on 41 minutes as Sean Mór Devine tipped a well struck effort over the top, with Conn Tinney cutting in to equalise for Owen Roe’s. As conditions deteriorated Owen Roe’s knew they had a battle on.

Mc Shane added two more for Owen Roe’s to put them in front with Ricki Devine blasting a fine goal to the net to push Owen Roe’s towards the finishing tape.

Wing back Eamon Mc Bride added a score with sub Conn Tinney flicking the ball to the net late on in front of a vocal Owen Roe’s support.

Errigal struck a well taken goal in added time but it was too little too late as Owen Roe’s maintain their quest for the League title.
