An excellent Owen Roes display tonight in Plumbridge saw the Leckpatrick lads emerge with an eight point victory over their neighbours. The foundation for the result lay in an impressive first half Owen Roes showing that kept the hosts scoreless.

Cathal McShane converted a 4th minute free to get the scoreboard turning, and good work from the oustanding Conor Doherty allowed Damian Ferguson to add on minutes later. The visitors got their first goal on 9 minutes from slightly fortuitous circumstances as Fergal McNulty's accuracy from a 45 was rewarded with the ball dropping into the Glenelly net.

Jason Barclay, sub Ronan McNulty, McShane and Joe Casey added to the Owen Roes lead as Doherty, Stephen Harper, Charles O'Doherty and co left Ryan McShane's goal intact at the short whistle.

Half Time: Glenelly 0-0 Owen Roes 1-6

Conor Casey's burst from deep and subsequent shot got the second half's opening score under way, before Ryan Falls pulled one back. However Owen Roes were to quickly quell come back hopes.

A solid tackle by Barclay allowed Stephen Harper to set off on a lung bursting run. The defender's cross field ball resulted in Fergal McNulty to slide past the St.Joeseph's number one.

Glenelly though were to ensure that Owen Roes would not rest easy as they struck 1-3 without reply. The Leckpatrick lads were to break Glenelly's spirit though as Joe Casey slammed the ball home to the host's net.

Owen Roes saw their number reduced by one before Ferguson added another to his tally from a placed kick, but Glenelly found the net once more. A Ronan McNulty point, one fifa and a thumping Ferguson finish ensured that Owen Roes kept their noses in front.

Glenelly tagged a late 1-1, power lines but Cathal McShane's late white flag ensured that Owen Roes would take both points back down the road.
