Defeat on the Road Again for O'Neills
Fixture: Brackaville v Owen Roes
Score: 2-11 to 0-9
Owen Roes' hopes of a pick up in fortunes in the Tyrone ACL suffered a blow on Saturday past, when they went down to a seven point reverse against the home side. In truth this was a much better showing by the away side, with signs that their form is turning in the right direction.
Conor McCay was in form early on and in a tight first half had registered both Owen Roes' opening scores as the sides went point for point for much of the half.
Half forward Ronan Parker split the posts as well, before Aidan McCrossan marked his return to the side with a placed kick. Brackaville were matching the Leckpatrick outfit stride for stride at this stage. However another placed kick by McCrossan and Brendan Boggs' score gave the green and reds a slight lead.
McCrossan's late placed kick ended the half, as the teams retired to the dresssing rooms with the minimum advantage secured for the Leckpatrick side.
Buoyed by their first half display the hosts game out with hopes of a welcome two points in the second half. Nonetheless an early Brackaville goal took the wind firmly from their sails.
Ryan Stewart pulled a point back for Owen Roes, however the hosts had started to split the posts with a bit more regularity and started to pull away.
Wing back Davy Harte surged forward to raise a white flag but a late 1-1 from the East Tyrone side saw them home by a fairly comfortable margin in the end.
