Understrength Owen Roes Snatch Draw

Fixture: Castlederg v Owen Roes

Score: 2-9 to 1-12

These two sides lined up for the second time in five days in a repeat of their previous weekend's Championship showing. Indeed Owen Roes starting XV showed a marked change from their previous team with injuies and absentees causing headaches for Maxi Curran.

Both sides went in at the short whistle level. Andy Devine's accuracy from placed ball was going to prove a positive over the hour and he converted three of his side's first half tally, with Kiernan Kelly (0-2), and Davy Harte also spliting the posts.

The Derg got on top in the early part of the second half to forge ahead, but Devine's free tally was added to with a further 0-5, added to via a Barry Porter point. All the same the home side were on the verge of their first victory of the season deep in injury time as they led by three, however the experienced Stephen Kelly showed his pedigree by rescuing his side with a last gasp goal to level the tie.

Andy Devine (0-8), Stephen Kelly (1-0), Kiernan Kelly (0-2), Davy Harte (0-1), Barry Porter (0-1)
