The Owen Roes reserve side emerged from a tricky opening day clash with Clogher with a share of the spoils in this tight ACL reserve fixture on Saturday afternoon.
The Visitors were first out of the blocks when Dermot McMenamin's early point found range. Clogher levelled up but McMenamin's free dipped under the cross bar a few minutes later to register a fortuitous goal for the reds.
However the Eire Ogs clambered back into the game with an unanswered 1-2. John Harper traded points, before Andy Devine and Harper again ensured that the half time whistle sent the teams in level.
Clogher struck twice early in the second period either side of a Mark O'Neill point, and when two placed Devine kicks went over it looked like a pair of points for the Leckpatrick side. Harper's two frees cancelled out two scores from play by the hosts, but their day was about to get better.
A dead ball conversion levelled the sides, before a goal mouth scramble saw the ball laced past the helpless Damian Crawford in the Owen Roes goal with little time to play.
Another twist was to come though, as a Clogher defender was punished for handling the ball on the deck of the small square affording Andy Devine the opportunity to level the game from the spot, and that is what he did.
