Owen Roes are into the last four of the 2011 league thanks to an eight point win over Naomh Mhuire in a game that was much closer than the scoreline suggested.

The hosts got sharp out of the blocks when Kevin Cairns bagged a goal to add to points from Michael Dooher (2), Cathal Kelly and Sean Kelly. However the visitors came back into it with 1-1. Indeed the hosts added a second goal straight away with Jack McGeehan's smart save being slid home on the rebound.

McGeehan made another point blank block before the hosts broke for a goal. Dooher weaving through to score. Naomh Mhuire kept plugging away with a couple of points but Dooher converted a late penalty to take a three point half time lead.

Half Time: Owen Roes 3-4 Naomh Mhuire 2-4

The Roes backline with Ryan Devine to the fore worked hard in the second half to protect McGeehan's goal while at the other end Ryan McAleer (0-2), Cathal Kelly and Aaron McGonigle clipped over. However once more McGeehan denied Naomh Mhuire a certain goal with a superb tip over.

This ultimately ended the visitors resolve and Dooher's second penalty conversion say the home side into the last four.

Michael Dooher (3-4), Cathal Kelly (0-2), Ryan McAleer (0-2), Kevin Cairns (1-0), Aaron McGonigle (0-1), Sean Kelly (0-1).
