Omagh St Endas hit a rapid 1-2 in the opening two minutes of the second half in Glenmornan today which ultimately saw them home in a tough tussle in the grade one league. The home side had led at the short whistle by two points, but in truth lived to regret a number of spurned chances in the opening half.

Cathal McShane found range with two efforts in that first half as his side did most of the running. However the hosts also had a number of chances go abegging as they were denied on three occasions by post and keeper alike. Kevin Cairns, Cathal Kelly and wing back Conall McCormack also pointed for the Owen Roes cause in that first half as the home side played into the face of a stiff wind.

With the sides looking set to go in at half time with the visitors a point ahead, the host's foward line cut through for Ronan McNulty to rifle to the bottom corner of the goal.

Omagh came out playing into that hearty breeze in the second half. Despite this, they stamped their mark on the game early in the half as they rattled 1-2 without reply through Joe Colton. McShane chalked up two frees either side of an Omagh score as the Leckpatrick side battled gamely to stay in touch.

However Omagh grabbed their second goal of the day on 40 minutes to stetch the lead to five points. The home side's ill luck in front of goal continued to deny them on 41 minutes. Ronan McNulty again the man in the clear, but his drive was blocked by the keeper before hitting the post and going safe.

Another free from the boot of McShane just before the 45 minute, marker was quickly cancelled out by a score from play from St.Endas, and when they converted their third major of the day it was looking all done and dusted.

Nonetheless the Owen Roes boys knuckled down and kept the game alive to the final whistle. McShane grabbed another white flag, before Kevin Cairns was unlucky as his solo run ended up with his shot whizzing over the bar, when it so easilly could've hit the net.

Omagh were dangerous when they entered the scoring zone of the field, showing efficency and purpose in front of goals, and when they broke they tended to score, as they did with a pointed effort with 7 minutes remaining.

The home side though pushed the game to the wire. McShane hit another placed kick, and with a minute to go his side got a lifeline as a free dopped into the edge of the square was punched to the goal by Michael Dooher.

Try as they might to find that levelling goal though, time was against them and it was Omagh who left Glenmornan with both points.
